As a member and sponsor of FACE, the European Federation for hunting and conservation, ESFAM was invited to attend the General Assembly held in Brussels on 5 September 2018.
Mr Torbjörn Larsson has been elected as new President of FACE. Amongst the priorities of FACE for 2019, it has been decided to lobby against unnecessarily restrictions on civil firearms possession, storage and use so that hunters and target shooters can own and use firemarms without unnnecessary requirements. Mr Vytenois Andriukaitis, EU Commissionner, made a speech to explain how hunters, the « eyes and hears of the Forest » can use their traditions and unique perspective to contribute to the EU’s broader animal health objectives and in particular to manage contagious animal disease. MEP Karl-Heinz FLORENZ, the President of Intergroup on Biodiversity, Hunting and Countryside expressed his strong support to the hunters community.
